This has been my busiest period since starting Lightstalkers almost 2 years
ago. All my recent trips have sold out and I’m now looking towards 2012
and developing some new locations and ideas. After the success of the
Highlander tours I thought I’d det up a new tour with some new locations
with a similar format. The New Lightstalker Tour will run during May and
feature some new locations that don’t normally feature during the
Spring/Summer/ Autumn months. The Lightstalker tour will feature Glencoe,
Glen Nevis, Glenfinnan, Arisaig beaches and some other areas on The
Isle of Skye. I’m also going to develop a further trip that starts in
Inverness and ends in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, it will also feature
Torridon, Applecross, Dornoch and the Tarbet Ness Light house and the Cairngorm National Park, watch
this space.

Late in the day in Novi Grad, wood smoke drifts across the fileds and through the village. A magical place. My wifes family’s ancestors have lived in this area since the 17th century. 4 shot pano 70mm lens
Lake Mokoan Central Victoria

My mate Andrew is responsible for taking me to this spot.. nice one stretch! Location - Lake Mokoan, off the Hume Hiway near the town of Benalla. It’s a rare thing to find a lake in Victoria with any trace of water in it. Although after the recent heat wave it”ll be lucky not to be bone dry. A five shot stitch with a 50mm lens – Nikon D300. Shot at Dusk, we spent the night camped by the shore and caught the sunrise too, I’ll post it later.
Bushfire Disaster

I shot this on Saturday 7th of Feb, This was taken at around 1pm. This grass fire east of kilmore ended up getting huge and fanned by strong winds and high temps reaking havoc and devastation to the towns around the vicinity of Mt Dissapointment, Whittlesea and Kinglake with a huge loss of life. Tempartures reached 48 degrees . I tracked this fire down to Whittlsea then had to leave as it raged out of control. Absolutley tragic.

This was the scene south of Wandang as it reached the foot hills of Mount Dissapointment, pretty horrendous stuff.

Fire raging behind properties at Heathcote Junction south of Wandang, don’t know whether this house survived or not.
Mount Stirling and Craigs Hut (mark 3)

Shot at Mount Stirling in Victorias High Country about 30 minutes after sunset, it’s a 4 shot stitch using Auto Pan Pro a 28 mm lens and a D300 and Gitzo Tripod) and thick socks!

This star trail was set up with a one hour exposure (could have been much longer but it was cold and my batteries were aready low) put a fluro lamp in the tent first (for 30 secs @ f8 200 ISO ) then took it out and left for and hour then went looking for the camera in the dark…. then bingo!
Greetings
